It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Joyce Gilbert Allen of Orlando, Florida, born in Norwich, Connecticut, who passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Gilbert and Stella Gilbert; her brother Alfred Gilbert Jr.; and her nephew Michael Gilbert. She is survived by: her husband Herbert; her children, Matthew, Gregory and Julie Lahti (Christopher Lahti); her grandchildren, Abby Allen, Grace Allen, Caroline Allen, Matthew Lahti and Alex Lahti; her sister Jane O'Brien; her nieces, Erin O'Brien (John Kileen), Elizabeth Lewis (Carl Lewis) and Karen Barker (Garry Barker); and her nephew Kevin Gilbert.
As a tribute to Sandi's legacy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the "Friends of Dance" Fund (Fund F05767) at Florida State University in lieu of flowers.
