She was predeceased by: her parents, Rose Grad and Frank Grad; her uncle Abe Grad; her brother Charles Grad; and her husband Robert Lewis.

She is survived by: her daughters, Nancye Lewis Green and Darcy Lewis Cobb; her son-in-law Michael Donovan; her granddaughters, Caitlin Donovan and Alice Donovan; her son-in-law James Cobb; her grandchildren-in-law, Kelly Cobb (Maria Meringolo Cobb), Tyler Cobb (Tara Cobb) and Laura Paczesny (Kevin Paczesny); and also, Emma Cobb, Charlie Cobb, Collins Paczesny and Callie Paczesny.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Temple B'Nai Israel Memorial Cemetery (4901 N Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73112). Ruth's contributions to academia were widely recognized.
