He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah Mae McGhee and Charles Miller; his wife Genette Miller; and his siblings, Charles Lee Miller Jr., Owen G. Miller and Sandra Miller.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Miller, Michelle Barnett, Desiree Miller, Eve Mbaye, Charmaine Dickerson, Natasha Carty, Jhalen Marie Miller and Joseph Lee Miller Jr.; his grandchildren, Keenya Wilson, Javon Felder, Jaleel Pickney, Mariene Mbaye, Oummar Mbaye and Abrahim Mbaye; and his great grandchild Zaccar Marshall. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
