He was predeceased by: his parents, James Blackwelder and Thelma Blackwelder. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Blackwelder; his son James David Blackwelder III of Houston, Texas.; and his sisters, Joysa Leone and Linda Gail Waycaster. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, as well as his grandchildren.
