He was predeceased by: his wife Annette Montes; his parents, Ignacio Sr. Montes and Esperanza Montes; and his brothers, Benjamin, Frank Montes and Elmer Summers.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Matina), James (Kimberley) and Christina Calkins (Matthew); and his siblings, Mary Gomez, Jose Luis Montes (Joe), Hermilo Montes (Milo), Olga, Robert Welch and Guillermina Montes (Mina). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pietryka Funeral Home (5734 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL 60639). A Mass was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at 5900 W Barry Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.
