He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Elery Stokes and Anne Elizabeth Stokes; and his sister Elizabeth "Beth" Lindsey Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Jenny" Christian Stokes; his children, David Andrew Stokes, Amy Elizabeth Batten, Daniel Joseph Stokes (Chanel), Ashley Kay Klum (Justin) and Kevin Michael Stokes; his stepchildren, Virginia Choate Sykes (Todd) and James Forrest Choate III (Caitlin); his grandchildren, Kirsten Haley Adkins, Ashlyn Faith Garner, David Ayden Batten, Connor Thomas Sykes, Clayton James Sykes, Vivienne Elizabeth Choate and Valerie Ann Choate; his great grandchildren, Kaiden Michael Adkins and Kayce Maverick Adkins; and his siblings, John Lindsey Stokes, James Matthew Stokes and Mary Catherine Mueller. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
