She was predeceased by: her parents, John Warren Saunders and Amanda Marie Saunders (Schlattweiler); her husband Joseph Emile Lavarine; her son Joseph E. Lavarine, Jr.; her siblings, Dr. John Warren Saunders, Jr. and Mary Saunders Willson (Sandy); and her son-in-law Charles B. Swayne.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Jean Swayne of Christiansburg and Jo Ann Mann (John) of Orange Park. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.
