Joyce Laverne Johnson Covington Obituary

Joyce Laverne Johnson Covington, 60, of Orange Park, FL passed away Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born December 14, 1961 in Gainesville, FL to the late Herbert "Johnny" Johnson and Ann (Kenney) Johnson. Joyce worked for Acosta Sales and Marketing and attended Jones College. She loved Christmas and could be found watching Hallmark movies. Joyce's greatest joy was taking care of her family and extended family and cherished every moment with them. Joyce will forever be remembered for her love of family and kind heart. She was extremely generous especially at Christmas and birthdays and was fiercely protected of the ones she loved, particularly her nieces and nephews. Joyce kept her burdens mostly to herself as not to worry her family or friends and will forever be loved and missed. She loved her family with all her heart and soul and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce is preceded by her best friend and husband, Michael John Covington; parents Johnny and Ann Johnson; several brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and her beloved father-in-law, Horace Covington. She is survived by her children, Rebecca McKnight of Wasilla, AK and Michael (Gregory) Covington of Orange Park, FL; granddaughter, Piper McKnight of Wasilla, AK; several brothers and sisters; multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews with a host of extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
