He was predeceased by: his parents, John Roy and Gillie Studdard; and his sister Shelby Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Young Studdard; his daughters, Laura Carol Studdard, Leigh Studdard Scales (Jeff) and Amy Studdard Walker (Brent Davis); his grandchildren, Hannah Scales, Grant Scales, Kaley Walker and Morgan Walker; his sister Jearlyne Hargrove; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Thompson and Debbie Guenther (Paul). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James's memory to either The James Boys organization at Orange Park Methodist Church (https://www.opmethodist.org) or to the Orange Park Methodist Church Music Ministry.
