He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglass Edward Sr. and Mary Bell Myers. He is survived by: his wife Janet Michele Myers; his sons, Douglass E. Myers, III and Burton Terrence Myers; his daughter-in-law Amanda Jimenez-Myers; his brother David Scott Myers; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Maylin Myers and Luke Wyeth Myers.
