He is survived by: his brother-in-law Ronald Carter; his sons, Ronald L. E. Smith and Michael Carlos Hernandez; his grandchildren, Alyssa M. Smith, Peyton Payne, Cadence Payne and Ian Smith; his great grandchild SwaeLynn; and his siblings, Gonzalo Venegas, Carol Serna, Vincent Venegas, Esperanza Venegas and Mary Duarte. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
