He is survived by: his children, Richard Strempel, Jr., Diane Strempel Hendricks (Chris) and Robert Strempel (Heather); his brothers, James Strempel and Joseph Strempel; his grandchildren, Kristen Strempel Bacchus, Megan Hendricks Amador (Isaiah), Amanda Hendricks, Shane Hendricks, Kandace Strempel and Sophie Strempel; and his great grandchildren, Brendan Bacchus and Isla Amador.
