He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Scheider (Green); his parents, Clarence Scheider and Estelle Scheider (Pipkin); and his brothers, Gene, Robert, Thomas, Albert, Kenneth, Edward, Harold and Jackie Scheider.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Johnson, Vernon R. Scheider Jr. and Donald Roy Scheider; his siblings, Cecil (Denise) and Carolyn Strickland; and his grandchildren, Bradley, Amy, Gary, Jessica, Justin, Colt, Nikki and Dylan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many life-long friends.
