She was predeceased by: her parents, James D. McAlpin and Voncile D. McAlpin; and her sister Vernice Moore. She is survived by: her sons, Derek McAlpin and Nick Beckham; her close friend Noah Keen; and also, Jacob Keen (Kassie), Justin Keen, Shelby Keen and Alyssa Ware. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 sisters, many nieces and nephews.
