He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell George Schmidt and Erma Alice Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Priscilla "Cookie" Ann Schmidt; and his children, Russell Dale Schmidt Jr., Darin George Schmidt, Brenda DeBartolo Sawyer and Jill Erika Schmidt. He is also survived by brothers, sisters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
