He is survived by: his spouse Nicole Meurs; his children, Desmond Grant of Tennessee, Amaya Carter (John Carter) and Nicole Carter of Clinton; his siblings, George Carter (Pat) of Mississippi, Frederick Montgomery of Mississippi, Lamar Montgomery of Iowa, Ike Carter (Donielle) of Mississippi, Bobbie Jean Hollis (Calvin) of Missouri, Dorothy Montgomery of Texas, Phyllis Davidson (Robert) of Mississippi and Jackie Florence of Florida; and his aunt Jessie Mae Smith of Mississippi. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
