He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Laverty and Harriet Laverty (Hoyland); his siblings, George, Thomas, Archie, Richard, Delbert, Mary, Frances and Phylis; and his grandchildren, Melissa Sue Williams and Robert William Laverty.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Mae Laverty (Mansell); his son Kenneth Laverty; his stepdaughter Patricia Manley; and his grandchildren, Michelle Black (Rich), James R. Williams (Tara), Paul Skinner, Jr. and Eric Skinner. He is also survived by his great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
