She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Louis Mitchell Thomas and Ruth Mae Thomas; her husband Martie Edward Broom; her children, Ruth Diann Jones of Ocala, Edward Mitchell (Eddie) and Christopher Martie Broom (Christy) of Montevallo, Alabama; and her brother Lawaine Thomas of Rutherfordton. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.
