He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Long Sr. and Bertie Hodge Long; his wife Sarah Williams Long; and his siblings, Mary Arrington (Janice Long Miller) and Wilbur Long, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, James Maxwell Long (Wilda), Julia Hicks (Bruce), Christina Stainfield and Rachel Weber (Patrick); and his siblings, Myrtle Futch and Vernon Long Sr. (Melissa). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
