He is survived by: his wife Ginger Denton Petry; his children, Tori Fredericksen (Evan) of Boulder, Colorado, Savannah Rodriguez (Jean) of Chesapeake, Virginia and Chase Petry (Lindsey) of Brooklyn; his grandchild Reya Maria Rodriguez; his brother Randy Petry (Alicia) of Jackson, Georgia; his uncles, Ron Petry of Altamonte Springs and J. E. Petry (Anna Lou) of Hurricane; and his aunt Shelby Washko of Hinckley, Ohio. He is also survived by his nephews and cousins.
