She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Lee Smith, Sr. and Margaret Virginia Tanner; her husband Samuel Lowery, Sr.; her brother Arthur Lee Smith, Jr.; and her grandson Cedric Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Tremese Durden (Clarence), Cassandra Thornton (Wesley), Charles Thornton, Jr. (Eugenia), Jerald Thornton (Zenise) and Gary Thornton Sr. (Danielle); her grandchildren, Selena, Jonny, Octavis, Lawfus Jr., Kevin, Brittany, Byron, Quinton, Desirea, Chaquanda, Trimeka, Joshua, Keausha, Arthur, Nyah, Devin, Gary, Jr., Geontre and Isaiah; and her nieces, De'Anne Smith and N'Shelle Israel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Summers Funeral Home Chapel (2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, FL 34475). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (515 NW 6th Terrace, Ocala, FL 34475).
