He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle Ausley, Sr. and Stella Holly Ausley; his former wife Shirley Gooding Ausley; and his sister Stevelyn Ausley. He is survived by: his children, W. James Gooding III and Kara; his grandchildren, Justin, Hunter, Mary Jo Lumsden and David; his great grandchildren, David, Lizzy, Kenneth C. Ausley and Shari; his wife Shirley Starling Ausley; his child Shan Bourgeois; his grandchild Jenée; his great grandchildren, Bryleigh, Larkyn, Briggs, Ty Bourgeois, Walter Starling and Suzanne Starling; his sister Rita Davis; and also, Nora, Daniel, Avery, Lawson, Holland, J. Steven Ausley, Michelle, Zane, KaeLeigh, Jason, Jarrod, Zachary and Laramie J..
