He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Massey and Flossie Nelson Massey; his son Ricky Johnson; and his brothers, David Massey, Lenwood Massey, Grant Massey and K. C. Massey.
He is survived by: his former wife Nellie Vernell Paulk; his wife Edna Steplight Massey; his grandson Brandon; his daughters, Rhonda Massey Hall Steib (Joseph) and Gladys Rodgers Coates; his stepdaughter Rosalyn Jones; his grandchildren, Will Curtis Hall (Michelle), Vance Hall (Maria), Wendell Coates, DeAndre Coates, Elenora Vernell Hall, Jasmine Coates and Renee Bowman; his stepgrandchildren, Kenya Holmes and Jade Holmes; and his great great grandchildren, Brandon Joseph Hall, James Carlies III, Jordan Carlies, Brittany Ortiz, Ashley Reid, Joshua Robinson, Amon Hall, Jazz'men Hall, Amaya Hall and Ayumi Hall.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anointed Ground Church (304 E Oakland Ave, Oakland, FL 34760). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Orlando Memorial Gardens (5264 Ingram Rd, Apopka, FL 32703).
