He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Beverly Hurt and Stephen Worley Hurt of Bluefield; and his siblings, Leonard Worley Hurt of Newport News, Virginia and Madeline Zuelia Ealy of Smithfield, Virginia.. He is survived by: his wife Sherry E. Davis; his children, Chris Hurt (Susannah) of Montverde and Shannon Green (Gary) of Beaufort; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Elisabeth Hurt, Tyler and Connor Green.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland Presbyterian Church (218 E Oakland Ave, Oakland, FL 34760).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Florida Railroad Museum (http://www.cfrhs.org.) or Oakland Presbyterian Church in Oakland, Florida (http://www.oaklandpres.org.).

“I had the honor of meeting Clarence and Sherry about 6 years ago. I was helping out with a job working on their home. They partially adopted me and I have always felt like they were family. We would eat lunch together, tell stories, I helped them out with some small projects if they let me. We talked about wood working, family, Birds, and future goals. I loved bringing my kids and we could stay for hours. Clarence was so smart and detailed. He was a great listener and I will miss our talks.”
