He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Sandler and Tillie Sandler; his wife Grace; his brothers, Joseph and Howard; and his sister-in-law Marilyn.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Idie; his nieces and nephews, Janel Rafael (Danny), Lisa Feliciano (Sam), Jared Sandler (Tamara) and Devin Sandler (Michael); his grandchildren, Austin (Skye), Kimberly, Noah, Phoenix (Franz), Alexis, Coltyn, Paisley, Alyssa and Gracyn; and his great grandchildren, Caiden and Robin.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Freddy's honor to Disabled Veterans of America or Honor Flight South Florida.
