Kevin Francis Gilmore Obituary

Kevin Francis Gilmore, age 70, of North Port, Florida and Sodus Point, NY, passed away peacefully in hospice on Friday, November 15, 2024. Kevin was born in Rochester, New York to Virginia Reddy Gilmore and John Patrick Gilmore.

Kevin is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Ellen Pape Gilmore; his sister Patricia Gilmore Cronmiller (James); his brother John Patrick Gilmore; three nephews James Cronmiller (Carolyn), Matthew Cronmiller (Hannah Wilhelm) and Sean Cronmiller (Olivia); five great nieces and nephews; his cousin T. Patrick Reddy; his mother-in-law Beverly Pape and his brother-in-law John Pape (Linda Berard).

Kevin loved and owned Boxer dogs. He liked meeting new people and spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to garage sales and flipping the treasures he found, playing cards with family and friends as well as occasionally playing slot machines at local casinos and the lottery.

Kevin was a kind, quirky, loving man known for his long blond hair and beard, Birkenstocks and fanny packs. His look was incognito to his strong political views. He would be happy to know that a lifetime of proudly running from bees like a little girl was successful — he never got stung!

He attended Aquinas Institute and graduated MCC. He worked many years in the medical field and took pride in delivering the best possible service to support medical professionals in caring for patients.

A memorial service and a celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2025.
