He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter J. McCarthy and Mary Ellen McCarthy. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Schultz-McCarthy; his children, Brendan, Damien, Brother Peter J. McCarthy Jr. (Paula) and Hannah (John Wilson); his siblings, Thomas McCarthy (Marie MacLeod), Molly McCarthy and Catherine Hogan (Richard); and his son Bryce.

Sean Patrick McCarthy was the co-founder of the TEDS Foundation, which has holistically educated, empowered and trained children and families from over 30 countries.
