He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert McPherson and Thelma McPherson; his son Patrick; and his brothers, Wade, Bill and Dick.

He is survived by: his wife Joan McPherson; his children, Michael McPherson (Nancy), Pegi Harris (Bob) and Nancy Maniotis (Nick); his grandchildren, Dana Wilkerson (Brad), Ryan Gleason (Angela), Brian McPherson (Britton), Bradley McPherson (Kristina), Alex and Nicky Maniotis (Victoria); and his siblings, Ginny, Bette Jo and Mel. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
