He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, James, Barbara Ann Twietmeyer (William) and Nicholas Jr. (Ruth); his grandchildren, Rachel Ahlgren (Matthew), Gretchen Twietmeyer, Jacob Assendelft, Christine Twietmeyer and Mary Twietmeyer; his siblings, Henk Assendelft, Greet Bakker (Huug) and Ank Rusman (Frans); and his siblings-in-law, Cees Steenvoorden, Frans Steenvoorden (Nettie), Hermie Assendelft, Lies Assendelft, Nel Rijnsburger (Andre), Ineke Lieverse (Wim) and Cornelia Millikan (Jaques).
