He is survived by: his wife Brenda Johnson Hensley; his children, Cynthia Hensley Turner of Bedford, VA and Gary Hensley, Jr. of Orlando; his grandchildren, Austin Turner (Heather) and Chandler Turner of Bedford, VA; his great grandchild Landon Turner; and his siblings, Brenda Day (Ernest), Lonnie Hensley (Regina), Jane Justice and Christie Jassak (Brian).
