He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeanette Docktor, Sr. and Alexander, Sr.; and his brother Rudy. He is survived by: his wife Anne Casselbury; his children, Curtis, Joseph, Dawn, Brenda, Samantha, Alexa and Patricia; and his siblings, Jeanette Shurow, Willard and Robert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and nine grandchildren.
