He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Burgess and Maude Burgess (Hansen); his wife Barbara Burgess (Whittier); his sons, Scott Burgess and Michael Burgess; and his siblings, Fred, Robert, Arthur Jr., William, Peter Burgess, Jeanette Benoit, Irene Lord and Marion Hill.
He is survived by: his daughter Paula Castranova; and his grandchildren, Kali (Chris Cantana), Jenna Castanova, Cassie (Doug Mellington), Chris Burgess (Molly), Joshua Burgess (Sarah) and Nicholas Burgess. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
