She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Ward and Anna Ward; her children, Rebecca Brooks Walker and Hardy Randall Brooks; and her siblings, Alice Ward Brownell, Lavada Ward Ance, Charles Ward, Alcus Ward, Johnie Ward and Billy Ward.
She is survived by: her children, James Vernon Brooks Jr. (Diann) and Shirley Brooks Herge (J. Curtis Herge) of Brooksville; and her grandchildren, Lucia LaBonte Owens of Powell, Sharon Elizabeth LaBonte of Tega Cay, Alethea Brooks Sauto of Brooksville, Angel Brooks Theodore of Brooksville, Brian M. Brooks of Oldsmar, Robert D. Brooks of Homosassa, Tiffany Brooks Hoblit of Brooksville and Austin T. Brooks of Brooksville. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
