He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Henry Nelson and Eva Mae Nelson; his daughter Sophia Eva Nelson; his great grandchild Kai; and his children, Jenelle Nelson West, Richard Orvel Nelson II, Regina E. Nelson, Christina Nelson Coy and Mathew Isom. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
