She was predeceased by: her husband Charles; her parents, Aguedo Cartagena and Rosalia Cartagena; and her brother Tito. She is survived by: her children, Rosalia Hancock (Scott), Raymond (Shannon), Vilmarie and Aurea Messersmith; her grandchildren, Joshua Johannsen, Daniel (Kathryn), Joseph Ira, Maria, Kendall Donaldson (Seth), Erin and Jonathan Messersmith; and her sisters, Nellie Maldonado (Oscar), Gloria Cartagena and Rosa Ramos.
