He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. W. Owings Stone and Margaret Simpson Stone; his former wife Sandy; and his daughter Wende Stone Bell. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Nelson; his daughter Hilary Stone Carroll (Chris); his grandchildren, James Gatewood Bell, Jr. (Lauren), Tyler Bell Jones (Bret), Shelby Bell Gressett (Drew) and Anderson Taylor Carroll; and his siblings, Don Stone (Carole), Greg Stone (Brenda) and Betty Root. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
