She was predeceased by: her parents, Shakir Thomas Ilyas, MD and Roujina Koury Ilyas; and her husband Robert E. Badwey, MD. She is survived by: her children, Robert E. Badwey, MD of Atlanta, GA, Richard E. Badwey (Laurie Hall Badwey) of Alexandria, VA and Rayna Badwey Matz of Naples, FL.; her grandchildren, Austin Matz of Charlotte, NC., Mackenzie Matz of Pittsburgh, PA., Laura Grace Badwey of Alexandria, VA. and Richard Nelson Badwey of Alexandria, VA.; and her sister Thomasine I. Alvarez (Everett Alvarez, Jr.). She is also survived by numerous nephews, their spouses.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery (401 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the St. Paul Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church (2425 Rivers Rd, Naples, FL 34120).
