It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jennifer Ellen Osterling of Myakka City, Florida, born in Bradenton, Florida, who passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Lloyd Osterling; her stepmother Kris Osterling; her brother Erick David Shumway; her aunt Janet Thurston (Melville); and her extended family, Farren Dakin and Levi Dakin.
She is survived by: her daughter Leah Dakin of Myakka City; her mother Gail Shumway (Melville) of Sarasota; her nieces, Hayden and Ashlyn Shumway; her stepfather Erick H. Shumway; her aunt Marilyn Barrick; her uncle Warren Osterling; her cousins, Jane Zimmerman (Barrick) and Paul Barrick; and her extended family, Christina "Shelly" Dakin and Erin Drake (Dakin).
Jen was heavily involved and devoted to her daughter Leah's 4-H for twelve years and was involved in working on the Dakin Dairy Farms where she also became known as the "Milk Maid," driving the milk truck throughout various Florida cities to help promote small businesses bringing milk in time of need during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In memory of Jennifer a fundraiser Go-Fund-Me has been set up by Lindsey Dakin for Leah, Jen's daughter.
