He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Jean Phillips and John Lawrence Slay, Sr.; and his grandson Andrew Ross Davis. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Faye Slay; his children, Wendi Vowell (Jeff), Heather McKinney (Rodney), Jennifer Allison (Jimmy), Jessica Davis and Robbie McLaney (Tasha); his grandchildren, Chandler Slay, Nathan Harris, Collin Scott, Madison Kendrick, Morgan Maracle, Zachary Allison, Kenzy McLaney, Mattie McLaney, Jax McLaney and Meredith Davis; his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Scott and Oakleigh Scott; his siblings, Tonjia Chastang, Danny Slay (Bonnie Sue), Richard Slay, Tracy Slay (Traci) and Lee C. Phillips, Jr. (Jill); and his brothers-in-law, Rickey Beasley, Ronny Beasley and Bobby Whitegon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
