She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Cowling and Alta Cowling; her husband Thomas Halstead; her sister Mary Alice Lee; and her nephew Michael Hoyt Cowling.

She is survived by: her stepchildren, Sylvia Vicoli (Greg), Cathe Siewert and Thomas Frank Halstead Jr.; her brother Hoyt Cowling; her niece Sandra Johnston; and her nephews, Joseph Cowling and Richard Craig Lee.
