She was predeceased by: her parents, Lenton Carswell and Maggie Carswell; and her brothers, Edward, Harold, Lewis and Larry Carswell.
She is survived by: her husband Benjamin Edward Abel; her sons, Benjamin Abel (Marilyn), Derrick Abel (Rebecca), Corey Abel (Tanika) and Keith Abel; and her sister Clementine Carswell (Doris Carswell). She is also survived by 16 beautiful grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and extended family and friends.
