She was predeceased by: her parent Marion Byrd Shirley; her sister Sandra Shirley Lacy; and her brother-in-law Furman Demetrius Milton. She is survived by: her husband Jim Vest; her son John Vest; her daughter-in-law Anna; her grandsons, Noah and Elijah of Glen Allen, VA; her daughter Amy Church; her son-in-law Scott of Destin, FL; her sister Annette Shirley Milton of Waco, TX; and her brother-in-law Edmund Pettus Lacy III of Macon, GA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
