With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Mathias of Miramar Beach, Florida, who passed away on April 4, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Mathias and Joan Mathias; and his sister Jane Pizzigno. He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Leabo Mathias; his children, Michael Mathias, Jr. (Dorrie), Stephen Mathias (Shannon), Renee Wiggins (Coley Hansbrough) and Aimee Ballard (David); his grandchildren, Corry Wiggins (Katelynn), Austin Mathias (Caitlyn), Josh Mathias, Maddie Mathias, Will Ballard, Cole Ballard, Annie Ballard and Michael Mathias, III; his great grandchildren, Callie Wiggins and Mae Mathias; his siblings, Bernie Mathias, Mary Ann Johnson (A. D.), Jean Keaton, Linda Bishop, Pat Mathias, Cathy Ellsaesser (Charlie) and Becky Bass; and his brother-in-law John Leabo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mathias Family Scholarship at Loyola College Prep, 820 Jordan St., Shreveport, LA 71101.
