He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosella Hardy Simnitt and Pearley Amos "Jack" Simnitt; his siblings, Darlene, Richard "Dick" and Robert "Bob"; and his half-siblings, Jack, Wendell and Patricia.

He is survived by: his significant other Sharon; his sister Beverley Jean Judkins; his children, Joshua Lee Simnitt, Sharon Elizabeth Soares (James), Caleb Spencer Simnitt (Dorothy), Rosella JoAnn Simnitt, Beverley Jean Keith (Kirby), Samuel Joseph Simnitt and Melissa Darlene Simnitt; and his grandchildren, Jacob Ewerthon, Emily Elise, Julia Elizabeth, Freya Rose, Ayden James, Lanikai Loren, Leilani Lin and Luke Norman.
