He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Lee and Louie Glenn Spears; his wife Margie Morris Spears; his grandson Paul Rogers; his brothers, Herschell Spears, Wastle Spears, Gene Spears and David Spears; and his siblings-in-law, Mae Lowery and Carlos "Buddy" Morris.
He is survived by: his children, Nelda Rogers (Mike) and Greg Spears; his grandchildren, Pam Johnson (Daniel), Carl Spears (Billie), Katie Hudson (Sam), Deanna Smith (Darren) and Alex Spears; his granddaughter-in-law Katie Rogers; his great grandchildren, Colby, Bailey Johnson, Emma, Tanner Smith, Lorelei Spears and Louise Rogers; his siblings, Bill Spears (Shelby), Judie Dotson (Ted) and Linda Spears; his siblings-in-law, Polly Spears, Teri Spears, Marie Morris and Melvin Lowery; his friends, Jan Crandall and Lisa Mathews; and his dachshund Binky. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
