He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edwin Cooke and Effie Mae Buchanan; and his wife Shirley Ann Cooke. He is survived by: his children, Rolf Cooke (Shelby) and Angela Crocker (Daniel); and his stepchildren, James W. Dennis II, Tim Dennis (Melissa), Sherry Roberts (Richard) and Suzanne Troxel (Frank). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel and Bayview Memorial Park (3351 Scenic Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
