With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laverne B. Metts of Middleburg, Florida, born in Douglas, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Burnam and Virchel Burnam; her husband Carlton Metts; and her siblings, Bobby Burnam, Jimmy Burnam and Frances Thomas.

She is survived by: her children, Greg Metts, Sr. (Kristie) and Sharon Williams (Rick); her sister Barbara Shepherd; her grandsons, Greg Metts, Jr. and Lance Williams (Jessica); and her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Hannah and Addison. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest (2335 Sandridge Rd, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
