He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewell C. Marchbanks and Mavis Marchbanks; and his sisters, Regina Bennett, Beverly Brewer, Carol Neal, Gereldine Graham and Peggy Marchbanks.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Marchbanks; his child Charlie; his siblings, Julia Roles (John), Barbara Whitlock, Nancy Harrison (Al), Sharon Harris (Richard) and Paul Marchbanks; his children, John W. Marchbanks Jr., Charles A. Marchbanks and Christina M. Potts (Thomas L. Potts III); and his grandchildren, Christopher M. Ring, Michael L. Ring and Thomas L. Potts IV.
