He was predeceased by: his father Bennie Mitchell; his wife Lorene Mitchell; his children, Clayton, Oliver Mitchell, Dadula Mitchell and Joan Pace; his mother Alberta Johnson-Nelson; and his brother Clearance Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Rickey Mitchell of Ocala, Eddie Mitchell, Jr. of Flemington, Earl Mitchell of Flemington, Vernadean Thomas of Gainesville and Jeanette Mitchell of Gainesville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
