Samuel D. Givens Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel D. Givens of Miami, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 31, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Samuel is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Samuel's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Turner Givens; his sons, Samuel and Michael; and his sister Mary Jo Clark. He is survived by: his children, Daniel (Debra) and Pamela (John Mekras). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and their spouses, and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stanfill Funeral Home (10545 S Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL 33156). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the TBD Flagler Memorial Park (5301 W Flagler St, Miami, FL 33134).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Samuel Dewey Givens, Jr. to The Firefighters Cancer Initiative Fund.
